I can’t think of one book or one place to read up on all the information here. But if you do an individual search on google for each of these topics, you’ll find several good articles and/or books on these subjects. Applying them to web design is an open discussion and there are several ways to achieve in these three areas.

Is there a book that you recommend or place to get more detailed information on this subject?

@Veloaded dreamweaver doesn’t have nice code if you add their elements in they are not really up to standards and just messy, if you code it you know what your putting in and how everything works. Also dreamweaver is more likely to use tables and not divs

@Veloaded you can use dreamweaver, I code in it; but don’t learn dreamweaver learn tor code. So you should be coding your site in the code view of dreamweaver actually coding, the design view and adding stuff through dreamweaver’s plugings and features.

@Veloaded what I do is 1) Layout make sure the layout is oriented towards the purpose of the website and show this to the client, explain it and get it approved 2) Concept, put your layout to work and make a concept in Photoshop/Fireworks and add all the pretty colors, make sure you can change them most clients like to play with the colors, but explain your color theory to them. 3) Slice up your images and start coding remember LEARN HTML+CSS not Dreamweaver! Hope this helps.
